Healthy Blood Sugar

Diabetes is becoming more widespread and almost everyone knows someone with diabetes.  This was clearly not the case before the 1960's.  Although diabetes targets certain minorities, it is growing in all parts of the population.  The statistics are staggering.  Significant medical research and medical intervention have failed to neither slow newly diagnosed cases nor improve outcomes of the disease.

  • One million new cases of diabetes each year in people over age 20 in the U.S.
  • One-third of diabetics are un-diagnosed.
  • Diabetes is the leading cause of new cases of blindness among adults 20 to 74 years old.
  • Diabetes is the leading cause of treated end-stage renal disease, accounting for 43 percent of new cases.
